Jefferson Memorial: Jefferson was described as a philosopher, musician, inventor, writer, naturalist, and architect. His titles included Governor of Virginia, Ambassador to France, Secretary of State under George Washington, Vice President under John Adams, and President. During his Presidency, the United States doubled in size with the Louisiana Purchase that later was explored by the Lewis and Clark Expedition that Jefferson sponsored.
